How it all started
I started making jewellery some time ago, this came about when I was looking for something specific that I wanted but couldn’t find anything even close to it. I purchased a small plier set and ordered the bullion I would need to make the earrings I wanted, I enjoyed making them so much that I continued to design and make myself more items. Family and friends soon started expressing how much they liked the items I had made and began asking me to make items for them and to do alterations and repairs to their existing jewellery.
All the items I make are made from solid 925 sterling silver and precious/semi precious natural stone, all bullion and stones are responsibly sourced from UK suppliers.
All my items are soldered for security but this also means that your jewellery wont catch on your clothes and pick up excessive amounts of fluff and hair.
Every piece of jewellery on my website, including the stock items, are handmade by myself, the only exception to this are chains under 3mm in diameter, earring hooks and lobster claw clasps.
Bespoke Items & Remodelling Services
This is the whole reason I set up my website, I love to be an individual and hate all that mainstream stuff you can just buy anywhere and costs a fortune. For example I made a copy of a well known branded necklace, the branded version retails for over £700, I produced an unbranded copy for under £200 and my customer was over the moon with it.
Entirely bespoke items of your design or a design that you have requested will not be remade to the same specifications for anyone else and will be a one off a kind. These will be displayed on my website in the bespoke gallery section for others to see for inspiration and similar items may be commissioned but they will never be exact copies. Anyone requesting an exact copy of a bespoke piece will be provided with alternative options or an alternative but similar design. Your bespoke piece will be completely individual to you.
Remodelling/Recycling old jewellery is possible and can significantly reduce the cost of a bespoke make. Please be aware that not all jewellery can be remodelled/recycled, this process is reliant on the quality of the metals/stones used in the donor piece/s. Donor pieces must be stamped and a disclaimer is required, unfortunately as technology has progressed it is all too easy to buy a stamp and use it on anything unless the piece has been to the assay office and bears that guarantee.
Delivery
General
Packages are generally dispatched within 24 hours (where items are in stock) after receipt of payment and are shipped via Royal Mail Special delivery with tracking and insurance to the value of your order. Divergent Jewellery cannot be held responsible for any delays that occur following the dispatch of your order.
Out of Stock Items, Alterations, Customisation & Bespoke Pieces
When placing your order you will receive an automated email with an estimated lead time to dispatch, lead time will vary depending on material availability and your place in the queue, the queue placement is on a first come first served basis unless there are issues obtaining the materials for your specific design, we aim to complete orders for out of stock items within 14 days but this cannot be guaranteed, once your order has been processed you will receive further emails with more precise lead times tailored to your specific order, all lead times are our best estimate and Divergent Jewellery cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by third material suppliers, we are committed to providing the best customer experience possible and will therefore communicate progress updates to you via email every step of the way.
Jewellery Boxes
Divergent Jewellery items are supplied in our own bespoke trinket boxes with can be reused or recycled easily, the exterior is plastic recyclable and the internal foam/fabric can be removed easily and placed in fabric recycling bins.
Packaging
Items are shipped as standard in a box and are well packaged in padded envelopes, where multiple items are ordered a larger recyclable box will be used with natural packaging materials.
Delivery Fees
Handling fees are fixed, whereas transport fees vary according to total weight and value of your order and will calculated at checkout. We advise you to group items together in one order, we cannot group two distinct orders placed separately, and shipping fees will apply to each of them. Delivery fees are non refundable once the status of your order has been marked as dispatched/shipped.
